When the value of design is not material-dependent, the domain has great potential to achieve the concept of “decoupling” economic growth without corresponding environmental pressure.
Vene 02 is a two-meter-long lightweight bench designed with the aim of minimizing material consumption. The form is the direct result of a weight-minimization strategy.
The beam structure is inspired by racing kayaks and has a 4 mm-thick shell structure to effectively distribute the load along the surfaces. The inner spar and ribs add structural strength to offer seating for three people.
